These approaches are complementary. They are not proven to slow dementia, reverse memory loss or replace recognised medical and psychological care.
Relaxation & Emotional Comfort

RESEARCH & BACKGROUND
Understanding the Research Behind the Approach
Research by Simon Duff and Daniel Nightingale explored the use of hypnosis with people living with dementia, including its possible effects on aspects of quality of life.
The research reported encouraging findings in areas such as relaxation, social interaction, confidence and everyday motivation.
However, these findings come from a limited research base and do not establish that hypnosis prevents dementia, reverses cognitive decline or slows disease progression.
Beryl's interest in the Nightingale approach reflects her commitment to exploring compassionate complementary support while respecting the importance of established medical care.
